Offering a wide range of activities:

  • New stores and services to complement the hypermarket and the existing gallery.
  • A Citizen’s Store in partnership with the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira.
  • A fitness center.
  • A space dedicated to health and well-being.
  • Sports areas and play areas.

Transforming unused offices into accommodation

More than 100 units will be developed, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments, and will be able to accommodate more than 200 people.

Pursuing a strong environmental ambition

  • 1 carbon impact 12 times lower than the average for greenfield projects.
  • BREEAM certification targeted.
  • 4,648sqm renatured.
  • 1,800sqm of gardens and green roofs.
  • Redesigned soft mobility.

This project is part of the European Union's research and innovation funding program "Horizon Europe" bringing together 9 European cities to reimagine their neighborhoods as dynamic, sustainable and inclusive centers for people and nature.

This project revitalizes an emblematic building complex in Alverca which has seen limited use for the last 30 years. It aims to develop and diversify its original functions, while adapting it to current social realities. Today, it is fully integrated into the urban fabric, becoming a central element in harmony with the surrounding ecosystem.

Bringing mixed use
The gallery currently has around twenty stores with a surface area of ​​more than 1,300sqm, to which can be added the 10,200sqm of the Auchan hypermarket. This project increases the commercial surface area but also introduces new uses, thus transforming the site into a mixed project with a wide range of activities, from shopping to health and well-being services, while providing living spaces for residents.

Capitalizing on a strategic location
The Alverca Shopping Mall is located in the Lisbon metropolitan area, which has 2.9 million inhabitants, known for being one of the main logistics centers of the capital and for its high population density, which includes 220,000 people within a 10-minute radius.
